About This Role

Senior Systems & Network Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support classified information systems. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments supporting the warfighters. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and develop solutions to solve infrastructure problems. Knowledge of Windows and Linux desktop and server operating systems is required.

Senior Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for information system patching, anti-virus updates and installations, vulnerability management, and user account management. You will work with Cybersecurity professionals, such as ISSM, ISSO, ISSE to maintain security compliance requirements. This candidate will perform desktop support, resetting passwords, installing, network configuration and troubleshooting, upgrading applications, and respond to incidents that occur on the classified information systems.

Typical duties:Managing active directory and group policy; system backups; configuration management services; system patching; network and system monitoring; system diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair; tech refresh and upgrades; technical meetings; maintaining, configuring, and updating baseline configurations per Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Hold and maintain an active DoD Top Secret clearance or Secret (Minimum).

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Network / System Administrator, with a proven track record of managing complex IT environments.

  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Strong experience with virtualization technologies.

  • Excellent knowledge of network protocols, security, and troubleshooting

  • In-depth understanding of storage solutions and backup strategies

  • Have and be able to retain relevant certification (e.g., Security , CySA , CCNA

MCSE, RHCE, etc.)

  • Possess excellent organizational and reporting abilities; strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills; and strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

  • Exceptional skills at developing/updating documentation.

  • Demonstrated system administrator experience, including administration and configuration of STIG security policies for Windows servers and workstations.

  • Demonstrated skills and abilities to manage a lab environment including the maintenance and upkeep of hardware and the installation and/or upgrading of system software.

  • Be able to plan and follow schedules with little oversight or direction.

  • Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF)

  • Practical experience in the design, implementation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise classified network computing infrastructure including but not limited to:

Ethernet switches, routers, firewalls, IDPS, and physical switching systems.

  • Familiarity with IP telephony

  • COMSEC (Communications security) experience with the TACLANE (Tactical Local Area Network Encryption) line of In-Line Network Encryptors (INE); programming and operating approved key fill devices; and performing hands-on installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of COMSEC equipment.

Education Qualifications and Clearance:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Current working knowledge and a minimum of (3) year relevant experience based on the duties described above in accordance with the DoD and/or Non-DoD security directives. Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of security awareness among IS users. Strong technical, organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work in a team environment or independently. Strong interpersonal, reporting, and documentation skills are essential.

  • Applicant selected will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

o Active TOP SECRET (Desired) Clearance or a SECRET (Minimum) Clearance.

o Have a background investigation closure date within the last 5 years.

o Be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.

Working in Closed Areas, SCIF’s, and work on-site 90-100% (Not Remote)

Work Location: Hunt Valley, MD

Work Schedule: 9/80 (Every other Friday is Off Friday)

In compliance with the local pay transparency law, the pay range for this position is

$110,500 - $167,900 per year.
