Pay: $19.27 per hour

Work with a purpose! Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Prison in Chaparral, New Mexico. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping those in our custody prepare for success upon release.
Job responsibilities: You'll assist with the preparation of all facility meals.
Essential functions:
-
Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and production sheet.

Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times.

Ensure the count and control of knives and other controlled kitchen tools. Provide an accurate count of all controlled items at the beginning and end of each shift.

Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and special diets when prescribed by staff doctor.

Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.

Coordinate the work of inmates assigned to assist in the cafeteria, which includes long periods of sitting and standing.
Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of food service or related experience required.

Must possess a valid food handler’s permit in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas.

Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
