GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

Childcare Teacher who can work Full-Time, primary work hours would be Monday through Friday flexible to work between the hours of (7:30am and 7:30pm). They will support our top-notch childcare team. Teachers are responsible for providing high quality care to the children of Quad/Graphics employees, as well as any children attending from the community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES SCOPE

  • Effectively manage groups of young children to ensure a safe, nurturing and supportive environment

  • Supervise and interact with children outdoors for extended periods of varied weather condition

  • Collaborate with other teachers

  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom consistent with health and safety standards

  • Follow daily safety procedures (cleaning and sanitization)

  • Assists children with daily activities

  • Make daily observations of the health of the children, reporting conditions which require attention and documentation in compliance with state licensing requirements.

  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with parents on a daily basis.

  • Show initiative for self-improvement by attending conferences, courses and reading professional materials

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on an equivalent basis

Education: An Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood or a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education or Early-Middle Childhood Education

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Certifications in Early Childhood I, II, Infant/Toddler

CPR

First Aide

Shaken Baby

Bloodborne pathogen training (Quad)

Child Abuse and Neglect from an accredited school

School Age certification

Registered in Wisconsin Registry Program (Wisconsin Early Care Professional Development)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds several times a day

  • Ability to respond to emergency situations

  • Positive attitude and good people skills

  • Monitoring Children in a child care setting

  • Completing daily routine forms per center and state licensing requirements

  • Cleaning and sanitizing rooms, furniture, and toys

  • Mediating conflict between children

  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, families, and children

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Manual Dexterity: Work requires   manual dexterity

Physical Effort: Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors. Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children.

Employees can be expected to be paid hourly a range of $18-20, based on variations in knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions.
