The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will join a collaborative neuro‑rehabilitation team to deliver one‑on‑one, 60‑minute treatment sessions that help adults recovering from neurological injuries regain independence and improve quality of life, while enjoying flexible scheduling with no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

Key focus areas include Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist, Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures, and Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist.

Important skills include Neurologic Injury Knowledge and Orthopedic Rehabilitation Techniques. Preferred (not required): Therapeutic Exercises, ADLs, Functional Activities, and Adaptive Equipment Training.

Overview

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time

Neuro Rehab Outpatient Clinic | Monday–Friday | No Evenings, Weekends, or Holidays

Join a collaborative neuro rehab team where you'll provide1:1, 60-minute treatment sessionsthat help adults recovering from neurological injuries regain independence and improve their quality of life.

In This Role, You'll:

  • Deliver personalized, hands-on therapy under the direction of an Occupational Therapist

  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, ADLs, functional activities, and adaptive equipment training

  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve meaningful patient outcomes

  • Educate patients and caregivers while maintaining accurate documentation

  • Utilize innovative technology and equipment in a supportive outpatient setting

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in exercise, ADLs, functional activities, and the application/use of assistive devices in accordance with the treatment plan established by the Occupational Therapist

  • Assist Occupational Therapist in the collection of outcome measures and completion of complex treatment procedures

  • Educate patients, families, and other health workers on selected procedures and functional activities as directed by the Occupational Therapist

  • Participate in ongoing program evaluation and development

  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all care provided

  • Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to the AOTA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant training program

  • Current Occupational Therapist Assistant certification and license to practice in state of application

  • Minimum of 1 year experience preferred, related to treatment of complex neurological injuries

  • Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques

  • Current CPR certification
