Position Summary:

The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager provides leadership and subject matter expertise to support health, safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs across manufacturing and distribution operations. This role partners with facility leadership and cross-functional teams to build capability, reduce risk, ensure compliance, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance, including oversight of environmental compliance programs and related reporting requirements.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Lead and continuously improve environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and foster a strong safety culture

  • Serve as the facility EHS subject matter expert, providing leadership and guidance on compliance, environmental management, risk assessment, and injury prevention initiatives

  • Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and verify program effectiveness

  • Manage environmental compliance programs and support adherence to OSHA, EPA, DOT, RCRA, and other applicable regulations

  • Analyze EHS performance metrics, develop action plans, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decision making

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs while partnering with site leadership, legal, and regulatory agencies on compliance and business initiatives

  • Lead emergency preparedness, crisis management, incident response, and workers' compensation support activities

  • Other projects or duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Risk Management, Environmental or other related field with 6 plus years of experience in safety, risk management and/or environmental or High School Diploma with 9 plus years of experience in safety, risk management and/or environmental

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences

  • Knowledge of local, state or federal environmental, health and safety regulations including how to access and evaluate resources, i.e., regulatory agencies, consulting firms, web-based information, etc.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Travel up to 5%

  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry, including environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance.

  • Leadership experience with the ability to influence, develop, and support teams in achieving EHS and operational objectives.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean Six Sigma, and their application to EHS program performance and operational excellence.

  • Technical expertise in hazard recognition, risk assessment, industrial hygiene principles, safety and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)

  • Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, SMP, or progress toward certification.
