WHAT DO SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICERS DO?
Your Key Responsibilities include:

Ensure Campus Safety: Maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors across campus.

Support Student Well-Being: Monitor student behavior and support everyday safety during school operations and activities.

Respond & Protect: Address and resolve security concerns or incidents at your assigned building and other district facilities as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
-
High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Active or retired law enforcement officer in good standing with prior agency and the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB).

Ability to obtain and maintain any licenses, certifications, training, or qualifications required for assigned responsibilities.

Ability to successfully complete criminal background checks and other employment screenings required by law and District policy.
