Full job description

About Trellis:

Trellis ( https://trellis.law/) is the largest legal research platform for state trial courts, with coverage spanning thousands of courts and millions of cases across the U.S. We aggregate and structure trial court filings, rulings, motions, and outcomes into a unified, searchable platform, combining large-scale data infrastructure with AI-powered analysis to extract, organize, and surface insights across that data. This makes large-scale trial court research possible for the first time.

Our tools enable attorneys to analyze judge tendencies, evaluate opposing counsel, find and assess expert witnesses, and see which arguments and strategies have succeeded in similar cases, so they can assess risk earlier, save time on research, and develop more effective, data-backed case strategies.

About the Role:

Trellis is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Growth to own and scale our product-led growth engine — from the first session through activation, conversion, and expansion.

This role will own the strategy and execution of Trellis’s self-serve funnel , identifying opportunities to improve activation, reduce friction, increase trial-to-paid conversion, and create more efficient paths to customer value. You’ll use product analytics, experimentation, customer insights, and close partnership with Engineering, Design, Sales and Customer Success to turn growth opportunities into measurable product outcomes.

As a senior member of the Product team, you’ll report to our Director of Product and independently drive strategy, prioritization, execution, and measurement for growth initiatives. You’ll be expected to bring structure to ambiguous problems, make data-informed decisions, and consistently connect product work to business outcomes.

What You'll Do:

Own Product-Led Growth

  • Own Trellis’s self-serve growth strategy and roadmap, from acquisition through activation, trial conversion, and expansion.
  • Define and own the key metrics across the PLG funnel, including activation, time-to-first-value, trial conversion, retention, expansion, and other growth metrics.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to improve funnel performance through quantitative analysis, qualitative customer insights, and experimentation.
  • Instrument and analyze the PLG funnel in Amplitude (or similar tools) and establish clear benchmarks and goals.
  • Design and run structured experiments to improve activation, onboarding, engagement, conversion, and other key growth outcomes.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design to ship product experiences that reduce friction and accelerate time-to-value.
  • Work with Sales and Customer Success to understand handoffs between self-serve and assisted motions and identify opportunities to improve conversion and expansion.
  • Develop a deep understanding of user behavior and continuously identify opportunities to make the product more effective at converting and retaining customers.
  • Build a culture of experimentation and measurement around growth, clearly communicating what is working, what is not, and what we should do next.

Drive Roadmap, Delivery, and Reporting

  • Own a clear, outcome-oriented growth roadmap and translate company goals into product priorities.
  • Write clear PRDs and product requirements that enable Engineering and Design to execute independently.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through launch, measurement, and iteration.
  • Independently manage priorities, make trade-offs, and unblock Engineering and Design.
  • Establish success metrics and measurement plans before launching major initiatives.
  • Proactively surface risks, dependencies, and trade-offs and drive decisions with stakeholders.
  • Deliver consistent written updates covering roadmap progress, experiment results, key metrics, decisions, and blockers.
  • Bring a high level of product judgment and autonomy to ambiguous growth problems.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years of product management experience , with demonstrated ownership of meaningful product outcomes.
  • Experience owning or significantly contributing to product-led growth, activation, conversion, onboarding, retention, or funnel optimization .
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using product analytics to understand user behavior, identify opportunities, and measure impact.
  • Experience designing, prioritizing, and evaluating product experiments.
  • Strong ability to partner with Engineering and Design on technical product requirements and implementation trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own a product area or roadmap and drive cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution.
  • Excellent written and async communication skills, including PRDs, roadmap updates, experiment readouts, and stakeholder communication.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear, measurable product opportunities.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on SEO experience, particularly technical SEO or programmatic SEO.
  • Experience with Google Search Console, Amplitude, or similar analytics and measurement tools.
  • Experience with self-serve B2B SaaS products or other PLG businesses.
  • Experience in legal tech, court data, or another complex data environment.
  • Experience with AI-powered product features, MCP integrations, or attribution systems.
  • Familiarity with large-scale indexing, schema, metadata, taxonomy, canonicalization, or URL governance.
  • Technical fluency that enables you to work effectively with Engineering on complex product and infrastructure initiatives.

Benefits:

  • Meaningful equity
  • Full Medical, dental, and vision coverage (for you and your family). ALL premiums covered!
  • 401k w/ full match up to state limit
  • Work from anywhere, but be willing to travel for sales meetings, leadership retreats, etc
  • Flexible vacation policy. You manage your own time
