Full job description
Why this role exists
SellAbroad is a Merchant-of-Record payments platform growing fast. Two engines drive that growth —
the new merchants we sign, and the acquisition partners who send us a steady stream of them.
Today both run through the founder: the sales calls, the partner relationships, the follow-up, and the
gaps in between. This role owns both. You are the person prospects meet on the demo call and the person partners trust
to actually pick up the phone. You close new business and you keep our partner channel producing — because a signed partner who goes quiet is a pipeline we paid for and stopped using.
What you'll own
- Sales calls & closing — run demos and sales calls with inbound and outbound prospects,
understand their business, and move them from interested to signed. You own your pipeline and your
number.
- Partner sourcing & onboarding — identify, pitch, and sign new acquisition partners, then get them
set up and sending their first referrals.
- Partner relationships — be the named, reliable point of contact for every partner. Regular check-ins,
fast responses, real relationships — not a quarterly email.
- Partner account management — keep each partner active and producing: track referral volume,
spot partners going quiet, re-activate them, and make sure their deals and payouts are handled
cleanly.
- Pipeline hygiene & reporting — keep the CRM honest and give leadership a clear weekly read on
deals in flight, partner health, and what's stuck.
- Feedback loop — you hear every objection and every partner complaint first. Surface the patterns so
we fix the product and the pitch, not just the deal in front of you.
Working hours
You work US-Eastern hours — a hard requirement, not a preference. Our merchants and partners run
on the US clock, and sales and partnerships are live, real-time work: calls happen, and follow-up that
waits until tomorrow loses deals. Your day needs to sit inside the US business day so nothing waits
overnight.
Must-haves
- Previous sales experience is a must — you've worked in a sales role before, carried a number, and
hit it. This is not an entry-level or first-sales-job position.
- Excellent spoken and written English — near-native, clear, and confident on a live call. This is a
top filter. If a prospect or partner can't follow you effortlessly, the deal is already lost.
-
Real sales instinct — you can run a call, read the room, handle an objection, and ask for the close.
-
Relationship discipline — you follow up without being chased, you remember details about people,
and partners describe you as responsive and reliable.
-
Reliable on US-Eastern hours.
-
Organized and self-directed — you keep your own pipeline and partner list tidy without being
managed into it.
Nice-to-haves (strongly preferred)
- Payments / fintech / MoR experience — you understand processors, settlement, chargebacks, and
cross-border payments well enough to speak to a merchant credibly.
- E-commerce background — you've sold to, worked with, or run online merchants and understand
how they think about payments and cash flow.
-
Experience managing a partner, reseller, affiliate, or referral channel.
-
Comfort in a CRM and with light reporting.
