Job Summary:

The Assistant Quality Control Manager position is responsible for aiding in the organization and function of an AIS Infrastructure construction project. This position requires the ability to review and understand project documents related to quality control requirements and have a general understanding of heavy civil construction. They will work with a Quality Control Manager as well as other team members to prepare project documents, coordinate tests and inspections, review deliverables from subcontractors, develop checklists and document activities, and maintain internal data management systems. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of AIS Infrastructure's deliverables, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

  • Assist the Quality Control Manager across all aspects of projects.

  • Review and/or produce design and construction documents.

  • Implement QA/QC protocol during construction via submittals, RFIs, inspections, and testing in the field.

  • Enforce compliance with quality standards.

  • Oversee subcontractors and apply field supervision skills.

  • Maintain documentation and reports.

  • Coordinate with PMs, contractors, and clients to resolve quality issues.

  • Continuous improvement of quality management systems.

  • Apply expertise during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases of projects.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams regarding quality control practices and requirements.

  • Maintain a heavy focus on safety and ensure safety protocol is adhered to, and no risks are taken with quality control and other duties of the job.

  • Internal production monitoring, analyzing, and reporting.

  • Assist with project submittals, transmittals and subcontract/purchase order preparation.

  • Assist in implementation of site safety program as required.

  • Assist in maintenance of contract documents and electronic web-based documents for field operations.

  • Assist in preparation of Daily Construction Reports.

  • Review contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure work performed is within contract tolerances.

  • Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Education:

  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Proven ability to assist with field and office engineer responsibilities.

  • Demonstrate initiative and desire to improve processes every day.

  • Good understanding of field testing and inspection procedures and equipment, as well as specifications, tolerances, means and methods, and structural/civil concepts.

  • Audits, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, etc.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Solid knowledge of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.

  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficiency with computer applications, data entry, Microsoft Excel, and other engineering design software and tools.

Preferred Requirements and Education:

  • Ability to speak both Spanish and English is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution highly preferred.

  • ·At least 2-Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Preferred experience in landfills, geosynthetic/clay liner systems, earthworks, concrete structures, and HDPE piping.

  • 3 years in construction engineering, with heavy civil construction highly preferred.

  • referred ability to utilize Procore and Unifier data management systems.

  • Familiarity and experience with coordinating and monitoring soil and concrete tests is highly preferred.

  • Relevant certifications in quality control or quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Engineer, CQM-C) are preferred.
