Full job description
Our client, a Household Goods, Furniture Manufacturing, and Consumer Durables company, is looking for a Plant Accounting/Finance Professional for their Doraville, GA location. Responsibilities:

The Senior Staff Accountant of General Accounting is responsible for providing accounting support to the Managers and other Team Members within the department, assisting with analytical activities to support financial reporting, managing inputs to the general ledger system, ensuring files are complete and maintained as needed, and handling support to complimentary functions such as Treasury, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.

This position requires a proactive, analytical, and energetic mindset in addition to possessing strong communication skills and the ability to be detail oriented.

Execute general accounting processes to support multiple cost centers and plants

Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
-
Perform month-end, quarter-end and year-end close procedures

Research, track, and resolve accounting issues
-
Assist with analytical activities to support both internal and external reporting in accordance with accounting policies, U.S. GAAP, and other statutory or government reporting guidelines

Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data to support the timely reporting of key financial information as required by supervisors

Understand and execute internal controls related to accountabilities; proactively seek opportunities to strengthen internal controls

Partner with other functional groups such as Operations Finance, Corporate, and Sales Finance groups to provide accounting support as needed

Assist with the development of accounting policies and procedures and recommend changes to improve processes

Assist in the resolution of discrepancies and data maintenance

Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential Support external and internal audit requirements

Ensure agreed upon Service Level Agreements are met Ad-hoc tasks and/or projects as necessary
Requirements:

BA / BS degree in accounting or finance
-
Professional accountancy certification (or working toward certification) such as CPA, CIMA, ACCA or ACA preferred Four to eight years of experience in accounting or finance function

Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills

Experience in a shared services or manufacturing environment is preferred

Experience with SOX compliance is preferred
