Elko Sanitation , a trusted Waste Connections company, is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet running strong. If you're a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in quality work and wants a stable, long-term opportunity.

Schedule: Mon-Friday (Occasional Sat.) 8hr shifts scheduled between 7:00am-7:00pm. (OT daily)

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION:
Starting Pay: $29.00+/hr DOE (or with current CDL)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-
Performs repairs and assignedpreventive maintenanceservices.
-
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
-
Conducts safety checks on vehicles andequipment.
-
Completes required paperwork utilizingfleet maintenance softwareprogram associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports.
-
Performs maintenance related work as required.
-
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards.
-
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
-
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

REQUIREMENTS:
-
Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record (Required)
-
Class A or B CDL (Preferred, but not Required.)
-
2+ years of diesel repair experience (fleet, trucking, heavy equipment, etc.) or completion of a diesel tech program
-
Ability to read and interpret service manuals in English
-
Provide personal tools.
-
Welding or fabrication experience is a big plus!
