Job Summary

Preferred requirements. Experience with EEG pedi and adult as well as cEEG. Must be able to accommodate call and work some weekends.

7 to 14 shifts a month.

Position is responsible for performing electroencephalograph (EEG) and other neurodiagnostic examinations according to physician’s orders under the supervision of the department manager. Job Description Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associates degree, preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support certification

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Minimum three (3) years directly related experience and an Associates degree from an accredited Neurodiagnostics program; or five (5) years experience if no Associates degree

  • Eligible to take the National Registry exam

Principal Accountabilities

  • Receives and records physician’s orders for patient testing: schedules patients, obtains patient medical history and completes appropriate documentation.

  • Prepares patients for procedures: explains procedure, measures for accurate electrode sites, applies electrodes and adjusts as appropriate.

  • Performs advanced neurodiagnostic exams depending on modality: maintains equipment and makes minor adjustments as indicated.

  • May be responsible for scheduling other techs, assisting the department manager as needed, and performing entry-level supervisory duties.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
