What is the opportunity?
As a Senior Product Owner for Lending you be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of digital product initiatives in RBC's Banking & Lending business within US Wealth Management. You will align product strategy with lending objectives, and drive innovation across the digital client experience and lending solutions portfolio. This role will have a focus on Tailored and Securities Based Lending.
What will you do?
Strategic Leadership
Define digital product strategy for lending products including Securities Based and Tailored Lending
Establish product roadmaps aligned with lending business goals and customer needs
Identify market opportunities in alternative lending, and credit products
Drive innovation in customer-facing and internal lending platform experiences
Ensure compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection frameworks
Team Leadership & Development
Provide coaching on product strategy, regulatory requirements, and banking industry best practices
Foster collaboration between product, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and business teams
Portfolio & Financial Management
Oversee lending product portfolio performance and ROI
Manage budget for technology used for lending products
Prioritize investments based on customer value, revenue impact, and strategic fit
Present business cases to secure funding for digital transformation and product innovation
Monitor product profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiency
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
Report to Banking & Lending leadership on product performance, market trends, and competitive positioning
Manage relationships with key stakeholders including Banking/Lending Product team, vendors, IT/App Dev partners, compliance, and risk teams
Communicate product vision and roadmap across the organization
Represent product function in regulatory and strategic business discussions
Ensure alignment with RBC's broader digital and lending strategy
Process & Governance
Establish product management frameworks aligned with banking regulations and RBC governance standards
Implement decision-making structures for product launches and feature prioritization
Ensure compliance with federal banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and fair lending requirements
Drive continuous improvement in product development processes while maintaining security and data privacy standards
Coordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Fraud Prevention teams on product initiatives
Support product documentation and audit requirements
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance or technology
7+ years of product management experience in financial services (banking, lending, or consumer finance)
5+ years leading product management teams
Proven track record of scaling digital products in highly regulated banking environments
Strong understanding of banking industry and lending operations
Experience navigating regulatory compliance, risk management, and consumer protection in financial services
Excellent strategic thinking and executive communication abilities
Deep knowledge of agile and digital product development methodologies

The expected salary range for this particular position is $70,000-$130,000, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
You have the potential to earn more through RBC's discretionary variable compensation program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
