Department: Athletic Administration
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Head Coach, Track and Field, the Assistant Coach will assist with coaching, teaching, instructing, planning, and recruiting for the women’s and men’s cross country and track programs. This position requires frequent travel, as well as evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions:
Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of practice and meet coaching.
Provides skill instruction for student-athletes, including individual skill sessions, small groups, and total team training.
Provides student-athlete mentorship and life skill development.
Coordinates, identifies, evaluates, and recruits quality student-athletes in compliance with University, Atlantic 10, and NCAA regulations and policies.
Develops contacts and relationships with pertinent cross country/track and field clubs and organizations, as well as high school coaches/programs. Maintains an efficient and effective tracking and evaluation system.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Complies with all NCAA , Atlantic 10, and University rules and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a coach or student-athlete or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coaching experience in an NCAA program.
Valid Driver’s License.
