Receiving Associate

Pipe & Supply – Houston, TX

Pay Rate: $18 hour

Working Hours - 7AM -5PM

Position Summary

The Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring all incoming materials and products are accurately received, inspected, unloaded, and stored in the appropriate warehouse locations. This role supports inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, and timely communication with the purchasing team regarding shipment discrepancies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming materials from trucks and delivery vehicles.

  • Verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.

  • Inspect incoming products for damage and report discrepancies.

  • Place materials in designated warehouse storage locations.

  • Notify supervisors and purchasing personnel of missing, damaged, or over-shipped items.

  • Maintain accurate receiving records and inventory documentation.

  • Assist with inventory control and stock rotation activities.

  • Support warehouse operations, staging, and outbound shipments as needed.

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Up to 2 years of receiving, warehouse, inventory, or logistics experience.

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift, move, and handle materials safely throughout the workday.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and experienced in receiving and warehouse operations. They are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall warehouse efficiency. Based on Pipe & Supply's operations, familiarity with industrial, pipe, valve, fitting, or construction materials is a plus.
