Job Description​

Saint Luke's East Hospital is seeking a licensed Social Worker to join our team!

The Opportunity:

Responsible and accountable for assessment of psychological, social, emotional, cultural and financial needs, and the resulting treatment that impacts patients' health and recovery. Provides professional social work services that utilize clinical knowledge to address the needs of patients and families during illness, crisis intervention, and post-acute discharge planning. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to develop transition plan and address needs in a timely manner. Participates in program planning and development to meet the needs of customers within the entity, health system and community.

  • Shift: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • On-Call about 6-8 times per year for a week at a time with weekend requirements during on call weeks.

  • Master’s degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

  • Knowledge of theory and practice of social work at the MSW level and have basic research skills

  • Must have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with patients of various ages and cultural backgrounds

  • Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills

  • Prefer prior experience in a healthcare setting (i.e., hospital, home health or nursing home) but not required

  • Certified LMSW or LCSW required in Missouri

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
