We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Sample Project Coordinator within our operations team to help support our bedding business. As a Sample Project Coordinator you will have the opportunity to provide support and direction for the Triad Process, while providing support to the Branch One Mission and Vision. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by coordinating new product development and manufacturing system improvements for all the product lines at Branch One. The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Sample Project Coordinator?

  • Collaborates with New Product Development, Production Manager, and Master Scheduler to coordinate the running of samples, FAA’s, Beta Runs, PPAP’s, confirms sizing on Pilot runs/ certification builds, green tagging of units for appropriates customers, and the main point of contact for status updates for all product lines at Branch One.

  • Communicates project status updates to Quality Assurance Manager, Production Manager, and New Product Development via production readiness meetings and samples call meeting.

  • Ensure production has all data collection packets and engineering packets needed for running of samples.

  • Assists in the conversion of temporary product specifications to ISO 9001:2015 controlled documents when the development stage is completed.

  • Aid in optimizing the effectiveness of the manufacturing processes.

  • Assist Marketing in the development of value-added features of the product.

  • Evaluate new operators after completing day to day EOJT training to ensure consistent and appropriate quality checks are completed.

  • Cover Quality Technician duties when vacations are scheduled and when samples are not being run.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes used by the company.

  • Understanding of computer systems and customer relations.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all departments and management teams.
