Maintenance Technician Job Summary
Schedule: Full Time, schedule may include evenings, weekends, and on-call response as needed
Pay: $18.50 - $24.06/hr
Location: Broome County, NY

TheMaintenance Technician Level Iis responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across agency facilities and grounds. The Maintenance Technician Level 1’s specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform installation, service, and repair of:

Residential appliances

Cabinets, shelving, doors, windows, screens, and locks

Flooring, walls, roofs, and furniture
-
Plumbing fixtures (sinks, toilets, showers, water heaters, drain lines)

Heating and air conditioning units
-
Electrical wiring, communication lines, and related systems
-
Diagnose and repair common and repetitive mechanical or structural issues with minimal supervision

Perform preventative maintenance on agency buildings, equipment, and systems
-
Identify deficiencies and complete repairs in compliance with NYS Building Code and NFPA Life Safety Code; report complex issues requiring advanced repair

Prepare surfaces and perform interior and exterior painting
-
Complete general grounds maintenance, including lawn care and snow removal
-
Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds, reporting safety or maintenance concerns

Maintain maintenance logs, records, and documentation related to work orders, repairs, and materials

Assist with moving furniture, equipment setup, and general facility needs

Load and unload equipment, supplies, and materials

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency required
-
Two (2) years of relevant maintenance, construction, or trade experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
