Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The staff physician in the clinical track is responsible for providing outpatient care to GI patients primarily UHealth Sole Mia and UHT (Procedures) [9 half days] . He/she will provide outpatient clinical (5 sessions) and endoscopic services (4 sessions) weekly , as well as inpatient care and teaching on inpatients at Uhealth Towers and Jackson Memorial Hospital approximately 2 weeks per year . Staff physician will be engaged in teaching and evaluation of GI fellows as appropriate .

  • Qualifications:

  • MD Degree and ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency

  • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine (or board eligible)

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology (or board eligible)

  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medic al License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)

  • Valid DEA license

  • Active ACLS and BLS Certification

Kn owledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.

  • Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures credentialled for including sedation.

  • Must maintain CME to meet institutional a nd state licensing requirements

  • Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required

  • Valid DEA licensure
