Full job description

This position is located at: Outdoor Recreation Adventure Park - Fort Riley, Kansas. DFMWR provides family support activities and services; social, fitness and recreational activities that enhance community life, fosters Soldier and unit readiness and promotes mental and physical fitness; and wellness programs that directly support readiness and resiliency. This is an open continuous announcement. All qualified applicants will be forwarded to management on a weekly or as needed basis. Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position as indicated in the Duties section above. Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment. Highly preferred candidates will be referred to management first. In addition to meeting the above qualifications, highly preferred is defined as also meeting the criteria listed below: - Experience operating a chainsaw. Highly preferred experience must be clearly stated in resume to be qualified as highly preferred. To better expedite the hiring process, we recommend including full contact information (name, address, phone number, email, etc.) for professional and personal references on your resume. Operate large, complex riding lawn mower (e.g., multiple and independently controlled cutting decks) and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment. Performs tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g., preparing ground for sod, flowers and shrubs) following specifications on project requirements. Incumbent is responsible for selecting the most appropriate type of equipment to accomplish the work, following safety practices, obtaining assistance, and performing routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment. Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes. Performs other duties as assigned.
