Job Description:
**PRN - Night and Day Shifts Available
-
Provides respiratory services in accordance with specific provider’s orders, department policies, and procedures.
-
Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understanding the purpose and possible side effects of each.
-
Performs arterial punctures to obtain and analyze arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis, understanding possible complications and contraindications.
-
Manages and operates respiratory therapy equipment safely and correctly, inspecting and testing to ensure functionality.

Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and necessary equipment, remaining alert to possible side effects.

Documents all pertinent data on the patient's electronic medical record following completion of any service.

Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients' needs are met and hospital policy is followed.

Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of techniques and treatment modalities for patients of varying ages.
-
Formulates and evaluates teaching plans based on identified learning needs of patients, including family involvement as appropriate.

Attends education in-service programs to maintain professional competency and obtains appropriate hospital-specific education and training.

Completed the first year and is currently enrolled in a two-year approved Respiratory Therapy Program. Required Licenses and Certifications:

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Neonatal Resuscitation (NPR) [Preferred]

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
$23.32 - $43.37
