Laboratory Director –Taos,NM
Salary: $140,000 - $150,000 / year

Shift Details:

Lab Director Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Direct and oversee all laboratory operations and staff.
-
Provide leadership, coaching, scheduling, and performance management for laboratory personnel.
-
Oversee laboratory services including Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Immunology, Phlebotomy, and Pathology.

Ensure accurate, timely, and clinically relevant test results.
-
Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, state regulations, and other applicable standards.
-
Oversee quality assurance, quality control, audits, inspections, and proficiency testing.
-
Manage departmental budgets, staffing, supplies, and equipment.
-
Evaluate new technologies and testing capabilities to improve laboratory services.
-
Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, turnaround times, and service quality.

Ensure adherence to safety, infection prevention, and hazardous materials protocols.
-
Investigate incidents and errors and implement corrective actions.
-
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, leadership, and external partners to support patient care and organizational goals.
**Minimum Qualifications **
-
Current, valid, and unrestrictedNM license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

At least 10 years of progressive laboratory leadership experience, including supervisory or director-level responsibilities

Broad experience across multiple laboratory disciplines

Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field (required), master’s degree (preferred)

American Sociaty Of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification

Masters Degree Prefered

Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
