Bae Systems Technology Solutions & Services, Inc.: F35 Senior Air Vehicle Engineer Patuxent River, Maryland
DUTIES:
-
Support the development of the F35 and Flight Test execution across the program, including development and reporting across the organization to ensure compliance with business and contractual requirements.

Apply specialist engineering leadership and expertise to ensure F-35 Integrated Flying Qualities and Propulsive design delivers a system with performance that is compliant with unique and demanding Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) requirements.

Act as the F-35 subject matter expert within their domain, providing technical guidance and assistance in identifying and resolving any emerging technical issues, and to ensure accurate and timely reporting of flight test results and analysis in order to support aircraft certification and flight clearances for developmental and production fleet aircraft

Interface directly with Industry & Military partners and customers.

Provide Propulsion / Performance Subject Matter Expertise support to the development of the F35, including delivery of the Pax ITF Roadmap and BAE Systems contractual requirements.

Develop and maintain tool sets to support test mission predictions and preparations and post trial data analysis. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of flight test results to support aircraft certification, flight clearances and fleet planning/performance tools.

Lead and/or support technical and test planning meetings to include flight test readiness review boards, safety review board and flight clearance reviews

Provide specialist engineering support for the F35 development fleet of aircraft at home location and deployed/remote sites as required, including operational recommendations and guidance.

Support the development of, and deliver the training program for qualification of Discipline Engineers, including special mission qualifications. Enact strong team leadership of a multi-partner, multi-cultural team and maintain high levels of motivation and co-operation to achieve program goals

As Lead Engineering Specialist for on-aircraft ground and flight tests conducted at NAWCAD Patuxent River and remote sites as necessary, providing real-time technical guidance to ensure safe, effective and efficient test execution.

Provide specialist support to new Flight Test opportunities, including trials, demonstrations and operations for both existing and new customers

Contribute to the development of the F35, in conjunction with Lockheed Martin to deliver a 5th generation combat aircraft.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or closely related engineering field followed by 5 years of Flight Test Engineering Experience. Experience must also include:

5 years of experience with Propulsion Integration / Performance techniques and theories

5 years of experience with Air Vehicle Design and Engineering rules and governance requirements

5 years of experience with flight test program planning and execution for a large development program from program start through completion of flight test program

Demonstrated knowledge of international standards and requirements pertaining to certification of military aircraft and weapons.

Demonstrated knowledge of MIL-STD-516 airworthiness certification criteria, MIL-STD-1553 multiplex data buses, Universal Armaments Interface, and MIL-STD-1760 aircraft/stores electrical interconnection systems.

Possess or immediately eligible to obtain U.S. or U.K. security clearance (Secret)
Up to 10 % domestic and international travel, including deployments and detachment to remote work locations on land and at sea

Full-Time Salary Range: $162864 - $226035
