Full job description

Accountability : The Human Resources Business Partner role contributes to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of business objectives. Performs HR related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. Will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition; employee relations; investigations, policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management, talent management; and on-site division visits. May carry out additional responsibilities to include but not limited to employee development initiatives and training.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs talent acquisition for assigned functional groups. Prescreens candidate applications and resumes for required skills; experience and knowledge to fit position requirements. Makes referrals to hiring managers and ensures efficient turn-around activity.

  • Facilitates process of candidate selection; interviewing; job offer; and candidate on-boarding details.

  • Actively participates in recruitment campaigns; job fairs; general networking; etc. to ensure robust candidate pipeline.

  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions, programs and policies

  • Mentor managers on employee development best practices and provides HR policy guidance and interpretation

  • Coordinate HR efforts between departments

  • Partner with senior leadership team for company wide projects or HR initiatives

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations independently.

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.

  • Recommend and guide management on compensation modifications

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions and terminations).

  • Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management

  • Prepares and compiles reports for HR metrics.

  • Travels to divisions for on-site visits as needed

  • May assume management responsibilities and/or have a direct report

 

Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience: 

  • Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements

  • Proven knowledge of full life-cycle recruiting components to include sourcing; qualifying; networking; assessing; selling and wage/salary trends

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a demanding and rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently

  • Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of HR experience in both talent acquisition and in the HR Generalist capacity

  • SHRM certified

  • Multi-site location client support experience a plus

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Limited lifting, no greater than 20 pounds in the movement of office materials and equipment. 

  • Hand and finger dexterity for use of keyboard skills

 

Environmental Conditions: 

  • Performs most work in indoors office environment. Will make frequent visits to work sites both indoors and outdoors requiring the wearing of PPE

  • Must carry out responsibilities in a fast-paced customer-focused environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, and responsiveness are critical to supporting the growing needs of the organization.
