Job Title: Mix & Cast Production Associate Job Description

The Mix & Cast Production Associate supports a growing manufacturing operation that produces advanced composite materials. In this role, you prepare and mix chemical compounds, operate production equipment, prepare and fill molds, monitor curing cycles, and help keep production running smoothly across the facility. You will review batch cards, weigh ingredients, operate mixers and ovens, assist with demolding finished products, and ensure all production procedures and quality requirements are followed. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing work, follows detailed instructions, and thrives in a highly collaborative, process-driven team environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow batch cards, production instruction sheets, cure schedules, and quality documentation with a high level of accuracy.

• Weigh ingredients and materials according to specified mix ratios and production requirements.

• Mix chemical compounds and materials in accordance with documented procedures and safety guidelines.

• Operate mixers, ovens, vacuum chambers, transfer tanks, and other production equipment to support mix and cast operations.

• Prepare molds for production, including cleaning, setup, and application of any required release agents or materials.

• Transfer mixed materials into molds carefully to ensure proper fill and product quality.

• Monitor curing processes and cure cycles, adjusting and documenting parameters as required by production instructions.

• Assist with demolding finished products, handling parts safely and protecting product integrity.

• Inspect products visually and through basic checks to identify defects and ensure they meet quality standards.

• Record production, batch, and quality data accurately, including material usage, process parameters, and any issues encountered.

• Track and document batch information to maintain full traceability and support quality control requirements.

• Perform routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance to keep mixers, ovens, molds, and related tools in good working condition.

• Support inventory and material handling activities, including moving materials, staging components, and tracking stock levels.

• Operate carts and material handling equipment to transport materials and finished goods within the facility.

• Follow all safety procedures while working around chemicals, resins, heat, dust, and manufacturing noise.

• Identify process or product issues, troubleshoot basic production problems, and escalate concerns when needed.

• Participate actively in daily production meetings by sharing updates, suggesting improvements, and collaborating with team members.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives by offering ideas to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and process-driven work area that supports consistent production and quality outcomes.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate mix ratios, measure materials, and record numerical data accurately.

• Ability to read and follow production instructions, batch cards, and cure schedules consistently.

• Manufacturing experience preferred, with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience desirable.

• Ability to stand throughout the shift and perform constant physical activity in a production environment.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally.

• Comfort working around chemicals, resins, heat, dust, airborne particles, and manufacturing noise.

• Mechanical aptitude, with comfort operating production equipment, hand tools, and material handling equipment.

• Attention to detail, including accurate measurement, careful documentation, and the ability to identify product defects.

• Dependability and a positive attitude, including consistent attendance, teamwork, and ownership of work.

• Reliable transportation to commute to the facility.

• Ability to commute to the current facility location and to a new location after relocation, as required.

• Comfort working in a process-driven, quality-focused manufacturing environment where procedures must be followed precisely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Chemical mixing experience, particularly in batch mixing or resin and epoxy manufacturing.

• Experience in composite manufacturing, aerospace or defense manufacturing, plastic manufacturing, or chemical manufacturing environments.

• Experience with mold preparation, including cleaning, setup, and application of release agents.

• Quality documentation experience, including recording production and quality data and working with quality systems.

• Forklift or other material handling equipment experience.

• Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

• Experience operating mixers, ovens, vacuum chambers, and other production machinery.

• Strong mechanical aptitude, including basic troubleshooting of production issues and comfort with hand tools.

• Experience working in a team-oriented, process-driven production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on composite material production and mix-and-cast operations. The environment is highly process-driven and team-oriented, with daily communication and collaboration among production staff. Employees work in close proximity to mixers, ovens, vacuum chambers, transfer tanks, molds, scales, and various hand tools, as well as carts and other material handling equipment. Working conditions include regular exposure to chemicals, resins, dust, and airborne particles, along with moderate to high temperatures around ovens and typical manufacturing noise levels. The position requires constant standing, frequent lifting and movement of materials, and active participation in production activities throughout the shift. The facility emphasizes safety, adherence to documented procedures, and a culture of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Attleboro, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
