Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Field Service Technician FSR3 for a leading electrical services client. This candidate will be responsible for supporting field operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning low- and medium-voltage electrical systems across customer sites. This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise and customer interaction, with opportunities to grow into a Site Lead position. The ideal candidate is comfortable traveling, thrives in fast-paced environments, and is passionate about delivering high-quality service while ensuring safety and system reliability.
Day-to-Day:
• Perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems
• Work on transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and industrial controls
• Conduct diagnostics to minimize downtime and improve system performance
• Support system startups and commissioning efforts
• Serve as the primary customer contact during service visits
• Provide customer training on system operation and maintenance
• Document service work, test reports, and system performance feedback
• Track time, inventory, and service activity accurately
• Collaborate with other technicians and teams for efficient delivery
• Follow all safety protocols and participate in ongoing training
Utilize remote troubleshooting tools when applicable

Skills and Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on field service experience with electrical systems
• Strong troubleshooting skills with power systems, switchgear, transformers, and circuit breakers
• Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems
• Experience working in datacenter environment
• Experience supporting system startups and commissioning efforts
• Ability to perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on electrical equipment
• Experience working on-site with customers and resolving technical issues
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willingness to travel frequently (30–50%+) with overnight stays
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA standards
• High School Diploma • Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Certifications: NFPA 70E, OSHA 30
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, or protective relay systems
• Protective relay testing and preventive maintenance experience
• Familiarity with field service software, ERP systems
• Experience using electrical testing equipment (multimeters, breaker test sets)
• Ability to grow into a Site Lead role
