Job Title: Assembly Worker

Job Description

We are looking to hire Assemblers to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll play a key role in building high-quality components and subassemblies by following detailed assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to ensure all assemblies meet precise specifications. Responsibilities

  • Use assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, parts lists, tools, and materials to assemble components and subassemblies according to defined standards.

  • Position parts and subassemblies accurately by using templates or reading and interpreting measurements.

  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts and subassemblies securely.

  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components to ensure they meet required dimensions and quality standards.

  • Identify and resolve assembly problems by altering dimensions within acceptable limits to meet specifications, and notify the supervisor when additional resources or guidance are needed.

  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly tasks, including wiring and building assemblies based on schematics and diagrams.

  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for cutting, fastening, measuring, and adjusting parts during the assembly process.

  • Maintain a high level of mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic issues and ensure assemblies function as intended.

  • Contribute to team goals by completing assigned tasks efficiently and supporting production targets.

  • Cross-train in all areas of assembly to develop a broad skill set and provide support to other departments as needed.

  • Follow all safety procedures and quality guidelines while working on the production floor.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized to support a safe and efficient assembly environment.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on assembly work.

  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools, including measuring tools such as tape measures.

  • Basic assembly skills

  • Ability to measure completed components accurately to verify specifications and tolerances.

  • Capacity to resolve assembly problems by adjusting dimensions and making minor modifications within guidelines.

  • Ability to stand constantly throughout the shift and lift up to 50 pounds safely.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work that meets defined specifications.

  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to contribute to shared goals and support coworkers as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in production, manufacturing, construction, or similar environments using hand and power tools.

  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical schematics and basic wiring practices.

  • Comfort working with tape measures, templates, and other measurement tools for accurate part positioning.

  • Willingness to cross-train in multiple assembly areas to expand skills and flexibility.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding issues, resource needs, and process improvements.

  • Reliability and punctuality for shift-based work with potential overtime.

  • Commitment to following safety protocols and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
