Full job description
Delaware Elevator of Virginia has an immediate opening for skilled Elevator Service Technicians to maintain, service, and repair elevators throughout the Norfolk and Virginia Beach region. If you’re a licensed professional who takes pride in precision, safety, and customer satisfaction, we want to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
As a Service Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and reliable vertical transportation systems across private and public facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair, maintain, adjust, and test mechanical and electrical elevator systems
- Diagnose performance issues and determine root causes quickly and accurately
- Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairs
- Respond to service calls, including customer emergencies and entrapments
- Participate in a scheduled after-hours on-call rotation
- Work independently to meet customer needs efficiently and professionally
- Travel as needed (occasional overnight stays possible)
- Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting and equipment handling as required
🔹 Apprentices will not be scheduled independently for on-call rotations until educational and demonstrated skill requirements are met.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience working independently as an Elevator Mechanic/Technician
- Valid elevator mechanic credentials
- State elevator license considered with additional years of experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced troubleshooting skills
- Ability to meet fit-for-duty physical requirements
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field What We Offer
