Job Title: Production Technician

Location: Tipton, IN

Pay Rate: 19.50-20.50 per hour + Differential

Shift: (Flexible is good)

1st 600am-230pm

2nd 200pm-1030pm

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Production Technician at our Tipton production facility. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are ready to contribute to our operations and help us maintain high standards in agricultural production. This role is physically demanding and requires flexibility to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor equipment and facilities to ensure quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.

  • Perform repetitive tasks such as walking, climbing stairs, standing, and sitting for long periods.

  • Engage in tasks that require repetitive lifting up to 60 lbs and exposure to all weather conditions.

  • Distinguish varieties of seed based on size or color.

  • Participate in housekeeping responsibilities and maintain safety standards.

  • Collaborate with teams during different seasons to support seed crop inspection, inventory management, harvesting, packaging, and shipping.

  • Enter inventory information into the computer and stage seed for shipment in the warehouse.

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, or farming.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English.

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Forklift experience is beneficial.

  • Ability to adjust to changing conditions and anticipate needs.

  • Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and rotational shifts.

Work Environment

The work environment is agricultural and physically demanding, requiring personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety vests, and steel-toed boots. While we strive to maintain a clean and safe environment, the conditions can be dirty due to exposure to environmental elements like mud, rain, heat, dust, and pollen. Training will be conducted on 1st shift and includes both classroom presentations and on-the-job training. Shift differentials are offered depending on the shift assigned.

This is a Contract position based out of Tipton, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $20.50/hr.
