Production Supervisor- First Shift, Direct Hire.

Due to growth our client is located in Rittman, Ohio, hiring a Production Supervisor, first shift. The Production Supervisor plays a critical role in the day-to-day production for multiple product lines, in accordance with company policies and all regulatory and corporate compliance requirements.

This person will supervise manufacturing shifts, lead safety and quality meetings, manage budgets and maintenance, and ensure production goals and compliance are met. You will need strong leadership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills—especially in safety, equipment maintenance, and process improvement. Experience in manufacturing supervision, safety practices, and familiarity with lean/Six Sigma, SAP, or food industry standards is preferred.

This role is ideal for candidates passionate about developing strong, cohesive teams while delivering excellent production results. This role will supervise a manufacturing department or shift, lead safety and quality meetings, manage budgets and maintenance, and ensure production goals and compliance are met. They need strong leadership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills—especially in safety, equipment maintenance, and process improvement. Experience in manufacturing supervision, safety practices, and familiarity with lean/Six Sigma, SAP, or food industry standards is preferred.

Hours for this position will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM; Saturday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM- Love to Lead? Plant will be your Saturday!

Duties and Responsibilities:

Acting as a leader in the support of the Safety Journey and the Company’s Goal of Achieving an Injury-Free Workplace. Driving continuous improvement in workplace safety by promptly addressing the root causes or near misses, conducting effective safety meetings, promptly addressing safety concerns raised by employees.

Responsible for EHS, MOC, GMP, and Q.C. Compliance in department/shift.

Conduct weekly safety and quality meetings.

Accountable for good housekeeping in department/shift.

Manage engineering projects in their department/shift.

Troubleshoot machine issues with hourly operators.

Utilization of root cause analysis when troubleshooting equipment to ensure repairs are done correctly.

Budget ownership for their department/shift, i.e. manpower utilization, and maintenance budget.

Own maintenance for department/shift, including but not limited to creating work orders, validating the work is done correctly, escalate issues to management when needed, and closing work orders.

Track machine downtime related to mechanical and electrical.

Ensure machines are properly utilized to meet and exceed production goals

Qualifications, Required:

High school diploma or GED

Minimum 3 years Production Supervisor experience in manufacturing and/or food related industries.

5 years of supervisor experience.

5 years of manufacturing experience.

Qualifications, preferred:

Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in engineering, business, or related field.

Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment.

Six Sigma Certification.

Lean Certification.

SAP Experience.

This person will supervise a manufacturing department or shift, lead safety and quality meetings, manage budgets and maintenance, and ensure production goals and compliance are met. They need strong leadership, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills—especially in safety, equipment maintenance, and process improvement. Experience in manufacturing supervision, safety practices, and familiarity with lean/Six Sigma, SAP, or food industry standards is preferred.
