Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Planner, the Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient completion of preventive maintenance, capital replacement, and emergency repairs across water treatment plants, well facilities, interconnections, storage tanks, pumping stations, and related production infrastructure.

This role includes both mechanical maintenance responsibilities and field-based operational support, ensuring equipment reliability and system performance across multiple sites.

Work Performed:

  • Adhere to and promote company safety policy.

  • Conduct facilities checks and visual inspections of equipment to report deficiencies or required repairs.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and equipment cleaning.

  • Assist with basic mechanical repairs under supervision.

  • Support capital replacement projects and equipment installations.

  • Provide field maintenance support across treatment facilities, wells, storage tanks, and interconnections.

  • Safely receive and manage chemical deliveries, including Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) exchanges.

  • Record maintenance activities in CMMS (WACS) when trained.

  • Maintain tools, materials, and inventory assigned to tasks.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

  • Participate in team meetings, training, and safety programs.

  • Respond to maintenance requests and support operational needs as required.

  • Perform on-call duties and overtime as required, with assignments subject to change based on operational needs.

  • Serve as part of the emergency response team, including use of SCBA equipment.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must maintain a valid NJ driver’s license.

  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude and or maintenance experience preferred.

  • Willingness to work outdoors and in extreme climates.

  • Good verbal communication skills with the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $47,878 – $71,817 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

  • Total Rewards Package Includes: - Medical, dental, and vision coverage (effective first of the month after hire).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, crawl, stoop, reach, grasp, and stand.

  • Work also emphasizes visual acuity, ability to smell, hearing, and speech.

  • The employee frequently lifts light or heavy objects, uses tools and equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color and utilizes the sense of smell.

  • The work is typically performed while indoors or outdoors, sometimes in cold inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, hazardous chemicals, and machinery with moving parts.

  • The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

Work Authorization & Pre-Employment Requirements:

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. All candidates must successfully pass a drug screen, pre-employment physical, background check, and possess a valid driver’s license in good standing (if required for the position).
