Position OverviewSign on bonus eligible, up to $2,500!

UHS is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Sterile Processing Department at Wilson Medical Center.

In this key leadership role, you will oversee departmental staff and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments, supplies, and equipment essential to patient care.

Full time, 40 hours weekly, evening shift.

Sterile Processing, UHS Wilson Medical Center

Primary Work Shift:

Evening Rotational

Compensation Range:

$25.27 - $37.90 per hour, depending on experience


  • Provides overall training and orientation for new staff

  • Evaluates employee performance in accordance with established work standards and conducts evaluations

  • Provides educational inservices for all staff

  • Monitors staff compliance of all department policies, procedures, service delivery standards, and counsels and disciplines staff.

  • Interviews and recommends the hiring of new personnel

  • Prepares payroll

  • Reviews and maintains sterilization documents

  • Investigates customer problems and ensures resolution

  • Monitors Performance Improvement indicators

  • Follows recommended practices and guidelines for sterilization (Steam, Ethylene Oxide and Hydrogen Peroxide) mandated by AAMI, CDC, AORN,OSHA, DEC, EPA, Niosh and the FDA

  • Maintains Microsystem (Instrument tracking system)

  • Performs all duties of a SPD Tech I, SPD tech II, and Inventory Coordinator

  • Assist in developing or revising department policies and procedures and performance improvement plans

  • Assists with capital and operating budget preparation

  • May assume additional responsibilities, as requested

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years' experience as a Sterile Processing Technician I

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree

  • Inventory management business experience

  • Operating room experience

  • Previous supervisory experience

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Certification as a Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
