Job Title: Foreman / Equipment Operator - Site Development & Earthwork

Job Description

Lead a small civil construction crew performing site development and earthwork activities for commercial construction projects. This position requires hands-on operation of heavy equipment, the ability to read plans, shoot grade, and direct laborers while ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a crew performing site preparation, grading, and earthwork activities.

  • Read construction plans and blueprints to ensure work is completed according to specifications.

  • Shoot grade and operate GPS-equipped dozers to achieve proper elevations and site layout.

  • Operate heavy equipment as needed, including dozers and other earthmoving equipment.

  • Provide direction, training, and daily task assignments to laborers and equipment operators.

  • Coordinate site activities to maintain productivity and project schedules.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating GPS-equipped dozers and heavy earthmoving equipment.

  • Ability to read construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.

  • Experience shooting grade and performing site layout work.

  • Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.

  • At least 2 years of experience leading crews on civil or site development projects.

  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, and site preparation activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience on commercial construction or site development projects.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Ability to work alongside crew members in a hands-on role.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and earthmoving best practices.

Work Environment

Work outdoors in an active commercial construction environment performing earthwork and site development activities. Projects involve grading, utility preparation, and construction of office facilities within a larger commercial development site.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Terrell, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
