Location: St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA
Position Purpose
The Radiation Therapist provides radiation therapy services by applying ionizing radiation to adult and geriatric patients according to approved prescriptions.
As a Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse you will:
- Apply ionizing radiation to patients according to physician prescription, noting any changes to prescription during course of Rx.
- Review and maintain daily treatment records for accuracy and completeness.
- Assesses patient condition from medical documentation and observe patients for unusual reaction resulting from treatment.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients in a sensitive manner.
- Participate in simulation and mold room procedures.
- Solve problems that arise with routine set-ups.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Understand dosimetry procedures and perform basic treatment time calculations.
- Participate in radiation oncology quality assessment and improvement activities.
- Prepare room and equipment for patients according to prescriptions regarding immobilization devices and treatment parameters.
Minimum Qualifications:
- ARRT Registered, RRT & Technical School/1 Year College
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
- 2-4 years' experience preferred
