Description
SAIC is seeking a Network Administrator with an understanding of enterprise network architecture, Layer 2/3 switching, routing protocols, and network security standards. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, performance, and security of the network infrastructure in accordance with DoD and ARL IT policies at the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Work is performed on site.
Job Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and security.
-
Implement and enforce network security procedures and best practices to comply with DoD regulations.
-
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network-related software and hardware systems, including Layer 2/3 switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and encryption devices.

Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.
-
Work with IP-based networking environments, including IPv4/IPv6 and IPSec VPNs.

Maintain knowledge of and apply standards related to 802.1x, 802.11, MAC bridging, traffic management, and data encryption.

Evaluate, develop, and sustain telecommunications infrastructure and ensure conformance with organizational IT policies and objectives.

Train users on basic network operations and escalate advanced issues to senior personnel when necessary.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
-
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking, or related field and 5 years of related experience.
-
Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
-
Hands-on experience in Cisco network administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls is required.

Relevant experience working in an IT enterprise network engineering field.
-
Proven leadership in managing complex network environments, including DoD networks.
-
Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), security standards (802.1X, 802.11, MAC bridging), and media access control systems.
-
Demonstrated experience in network segmentation, traffic management, and secure network architecture design.
-
In-depth knowledge of network tools, monitoring platforms, and documentation best practices.
-
Ability to plan and implement large-scale network configurations and upgrades while minimizing downtime.
Clearance Requirements:
-
Must be a US Citizen.
-
Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance. And must be willing to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Required Certification:
-
IAT Level II Certification equivalent or higher per DoD 8570/DoD 8140 (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, etc.).

Must have CompTIA Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or equivalent.
Preferred:
-
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v4 certification.
-
Experience with incident management within the ServiceNow Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) platform.

Familiarity with NIST, STIG, RMF, and Federal Information Systems Controls.

Working knowledge of hardware configuration management tools and logistics tracking systems.
-
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
-
Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.

Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.

Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
