Summary:

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure.

Required Skills:

Construction Manager - Data Center Design, Engineering, & Construction Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program

  2. Manage the budget associated with the project

  3. Manage the cost change process and negotiate best pricing

  4. Manage the schedule and associated risks to ensure reliable and predictable turnover dates

  5. Manage warranty and tenant improvement work in the live environment when/as necessary

  6. Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project

  7. Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed

  8. Mitigate risk for the project through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership

  9. Develop cost savings solutions and identify project savings/underruns early

  10. Partner with the General Contractors, Vendors, & Cross-Functional Partners to foster an environment of collaboration

  11. Coordinate needs and asks with the Procurement/Sourcing group(s) to support the needs of the Project

  12. Support the pre-construction efforts for upcoming projects

  13. Promote prefabrication strategies

  14. Support the development of Capital Project Budgets and Constructions ROMs

  15. Support the Campus Construction Manager with the campus-wide book of work including contractor, designer, and vendor management

  16. Support the on-site inspection process to ensure a zero punch-list and an expeditious turnover to FacOps

  17. Support the Regional Construction Operations Manager in the management of the regional book of work including contractor, designer, and vendor management

  18. Support the local DC Ops team and other cross-functional departments as needed

  19. Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork in behaviors and communications

  20. Support and lead an industry leading safety program

  21. Promote and model an environment of openness to giving, seeking, and receiving 360-degree feedback

  22. 10% travel to headquarters

  23. Respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 7+ years of work experience in construction management

  2. Multi-Project experience in large scale construction management, mission critical, infrastructure, and or data center construction

  3. General knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems

  4. Knowledge of capital budget management and contract administration

  5. Negotiation skills and experience providing solutions to problems

  1. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, may consider equivalent experience

  2. Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including fire protection regulations

  3. LEAN Construction knowledge and application of those tools

  4. Familiar with P6

  5. ACC Procore software experience

  6. Bluebeam software experience

  7. Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace experience

  8. Building Environment Accreditations (i.e. LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL)

  9. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  10. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)

  11. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Public Compensation:

$123,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
