Job Family Overview

Sales Operations

The Sales family group at F5 is responsible for new business and revenue generation, supporting customers in finding products, solutions, and services that best meet their needs, and setting the direction and policies for sales activities and managing the execution of these plans.

F5’s Sales Operational Partners regularly reviews and advises on sales metrics for the enhancement of sales systems, processes, and operations. Evaluates pricing structures to ensure fit with company objectives. Effectively incorporates client delivery schedules and operational changes into future revenue forecasts and revenue timeline considerations.

Coordinates scheduling of customer engagements with customers and internal teams. Maintains sales force automation systems, product/service costing models, and margin management tools/systems to monitor and manage revenue/expenses effectively. May provide input on the development of sales quote tools.

Possesses a broad understanding of F5 solutions and foundational knowledge of sales data to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in sales reporting. Utilizes data reports and benchmarks to develop, implement and execute sales processes that are aligned with company-wide business objectives.

Exercises sound judgment based on an ability to incorporate experience, data, priorities, and stakeholder needs, and evaluate potential constraints to arrive at the most beneficial path forward. Responsibilities:

  1. Independently supports the sales team with complex administrative tasks such as data entry, order processing, answering to sales inquiries & resolve order issues

  2. Utilizes previous experience and knowledge of the sales processes, CRM

systems, and other sales tools used within F5 to service contract renewals and

management, report documentation, and review data.

  1. Follows standard practices and internal guidelines in maintaining accurate

records of sales activities, customer interactions, deal statuses, and renewal

quote creations.

  1. May mentor and review the work of junior sales support team members.

  2. Participates in training of new sales support team members of F5 programs and related technologies to enhance their skills and knowledge in sales operations.

  3. Coordinates scheduling of customer engagements with customers and internal teams.

Attributes:

  1. Receives minimal instruction on day-to-day work and general instructions on

new assignments of minimally complex scope, using judgment to select a

course of action within described guidelines under moderate supervision.

  1. Impact extends to the regional support and cross-functional teams.

  2. Experienced with validating and troubleshooting data that supports the sales

operations team.

  1. Ability to operate within the F5 CRM System and other sales tools.

  2. Proficient with Windows OS.
