Basic Job Functions:
The Buyer is responsible for Nucors purchasing of materials, products, and services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing requisitions/purchase orders, negotiating and enforcing Nucors commercial and legal contract terms and conditions, developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/contractors, contributing to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts, identifying opportunities for cost reduction, maintaining supplier compliance files, and coordinating with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes. Minimum Qualifications:

2 years of Purchasing or Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or a bachelors degree in a business-related field.

Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:

Large construction/capital project experience

Experience in the following disciplines: business law, contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, accounting, or warehouse.

Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Oracle, MP2, etc.)
