Job Title: Assembler/Polisher Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Assembler/Polisher to join our team. This role involves assembling and polishing components according to specified instructions and ensuring that all finished products meet the required specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review work orders, drawings, specifications, or instructions to determine necessary materials, procedures, and sequence of operations.

  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on metal stock.

  • Verify dimensions and assembly alignment are correct.

  • Operate mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.

  • Ensure finished work conforms to specifications.

  • Fit and assemble finished parts, making minor modifications as needed.

  • Set up and operate hand drills to drill/tap holes in molds for venting.

  • Position parts and remove surface defects with palm sanders, sandpaper, files, or steel wool.

  • Inspect finished molds for smoothness, contour, conformity, and defects.

  • Fit parts together in preassembly to ensure dimensions are accurate.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with thermoforming processes and inspection.

  • Ability to set up machines and control processes.

  • Proficiency in polishing and assembly.

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, technical schematics, and other drawings.

  • Solid reading and mathematical skills.

  • Experience operating welding equipment.

  • Knowledge of using precision measuring and marking devices such as rulers, micrometers, calipers, and scribes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is very clean, with 18 thermoforming lines in the facility. The first shift hours are from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of incremental and Saturday overtime as necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntley, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
