Full job description

Description

We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to support a busy legal practice in Franklin, Massachusetts. This ongoing Contract position is suited for a licensed attorney with a strong background in civil litigation, preferably including personal injury matters, who can confidently manage files with limited administrative support. The ideal candidate will build strong client relationships, communicate effectively with insurance representatives, and move cases forward through each stage of litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle a portfolio of civil litigation matters independently, keeping cases organized and progressing on schedule.

  • Represent clients in personal injury and related disputes, providing practical legal guidance throughout the life of each case.

  • Prepare and revise motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings with a high level of accuracy and advocacy.

  • Lead discovery efforts by drafting requests, reviewing responses, and coordinating the collection of relevant evidence.

  • Communicate directly with clients to explain legal strategy, provide updates, and respond to questions in a timely manner.

  • Engage with insurance carriers and opposing parties to discuss claims, negotiate case issues, and support resolution efforts.

  • Assess case facts, legal exposure, and procedural deadlines in order to develop effective litigation strategies.

Requirements • Active license to practice law in good standing.

  • Demonstrated experience handling civil litigation matters from case intake through resolution.

  • Background in personal injury law is strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents independently.

  • Working knowledge of discovery processes, including written discovery and document review.

  • Experience communicating and negotiating with insurance representatives.

  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently with minimal day-to-day support.

  • Strong client-facing communication skills and sound judgment.
