Primary Location: United States (US) - North Carolina - Kernersville

As a Maintenance Technician with John Deere in Kernersville, NC, you will:

Perform maintenance related tasks in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

  • Manage configuration and versions of programmable devices, hardware, and systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's).

  • Perform corrective and preventative maintenance repairs and work on a wide variety of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and building systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high voltage electrical systems without assistance.

  • Perform maintenance, repair, and calibration on equipment such as control systems of numerically controlled machines (CNC) as well as controlling or machining operations.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrostatic paint system and overhead cranes.

  • Follow proper chemical handling procedures and processes, local codes, cooling systems and chillers, including reading and using SDS documents.

  • Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.

  • Communicate effectively, in oral and written form with operators. Interface and pass down information between cross function personnel of incoming and outgoing shifts.

  • Assist and support other team members.

  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.

  • Complete all required safety program objectives and training.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must haveat least oneof the following:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

  • At least3 yearsof manufacturing work experience

  • Must have at least 3 years of production maintenance work experience, including:

  • Working knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems; including experience with typical mechanical and electrical hand tools.

  • Working knowledge and ability to service various automation tools such as PLCs, CNC controllers, AC/DC motor control circuits, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software.

  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.

  • Ability and willingness to work any 12-hour shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

Preferred Qualifications (What Makes You Stand Out):

  • Working knowledge and experience of electrical systems rated 460 volts 3 phase thru 110 volts single phase. Control electrical circuits 120 volts thru 12 volts.
