Job Duties

Start Date: 010/01/2026

End Date: 04/30/2027

Work hours: 48 hours/week, Monday - Saturday, 8 hours/day, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Job Duties:

Performs any of the following tasks to attend to livestock: Moving cattle home from summer pasture to feed yard. Fall Cattle work /Pregnancy Checking / Weaning. Feeding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Maintaining feed equipment. Inspect livestock for illness/ injuries. Maintaining winter grazing fences. Maintaining Feedlot pens / Hauling manure. Bedding pens. Prepping barns and grounds for freeze. Cleaning bunks and checking water tanks every day. Snow removal. Loading and unloading cattle to/from the feedlot. Repair fence in summer pastures. Drive to town to pick up cattle supplies. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.

Minimum Education Required

None. No High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience Required

Minimum of 1 months of experience is required.

Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds.

Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks.

Workers must be able to speak English.

Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire, as certain roles may require a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles. (No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required.)

Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children and expensive tools and equipment on the farm. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment.

Additional Compensation

Exceptional performance may be rewarded with additional compensation or benefits at the employer's discretion.

As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

Job Benefits

EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.78 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts (Updated 04/07/2026). Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
