Lead TransporterFull Time, First Shift
The Lead Transporter coordinates the daily activities of the hospital transport team while ensuring safe and efficient movement of patients and equipment throughout the facility. This role assists with staff training, supports operational workflow, monitors productivity, and ensures compliance with hospital safety standards and procedures.
Responsibilities
Coordinate daily activities of the transport team during assigned shifts
Perform patient transport and lift team duties as needed
Assist with training and onboarding of new transport staff
Manage staffing needs, including covering shortages and coordinating call-ins
Distribute workload and redirect staff during high-volume periods
Monitor transport productivity and address workflow bottlenecks
Assist with Epic patient tracking system, reporting, and troubleshooting
Maintain department equipment, supplies, and inventory
Communicate operational issues and updates to leadership
Promote a safe environment by following hospital safety and infection control policies
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required
Less than one year of related experience required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Must obtain BLS through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
Ability to coordinate staff workflow and communicate effectively with hospital departments
Ability to safely transport patients and operate hospital transport equipment
