Our Staunton, VA facility to looking for a Press Operator for our Printing department. This position will be responsible for leading the operation of the press, which would include overall start-up, shut-down and day-to-day procedures and maintenance of the printing press, while operating in a safe, efficient and accurate manner.

Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for a wide variety of production related tasks

  • Verifies and follows production schedules, job specifications and instructions

  • Responsible for make-ready, set up and operation of press

  • Follows quality control procedures to obtain high quality and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Monitors all printing and press related processes and makes necessary adjustments

  • Performs basic troubleshooting

  • Completes job logs, production and quality paperwork

  • Responsible for all cleaning, preventative maintenance of presses

  • Provides direction, training, guidance to crew members

  • Follows all company safety requirements

  • Comply with all company rules and regulations

  • Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the company

An individual in this position must be able to learn and demonstrate the following skills;

  • Proficient in reading, writing and speaking to receive and give directions and instructions

  • Perform mathematical functions as related to press operations

  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve printing problems

  • Enhanced listening skills and ability to follow directions

  • Safely perform all tasks on and around press equipment

  • Knowledge of printing processes

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Understands and operates Color Management System

  • Understands and operates Quality Management System

  • Understands and operates Press Console Functions

  • Understands all technical functions of printing press
