JOB TITLE: People & Culture Administrator

LOCATION: History Center - 345 W Kellogg Blvd., St. Paul, MN 55102

COMPENSATION: Typical starting range : $23.24 - $25.39 hourly

STATUS & HOURS: Full-time, regular (approximately 2,080 annual hours) position.

BENEFITS: Eligible to participate in the State Employee Group Insurance Program and a retirement program with employer contribution. Generous vacation and sick time accruals with additional paid holidays.

DESCRIPTION: This position exists to provide administrative support to MNHS human resources initiatives by assisting with the recruitment and onboarding process, maintaining accurate employee records, and providing internal and external customer service.

As the hub of processing employment transactions, this role heavily involves drafting human resources documents, filing employee information both physically and electronically, entering data and maintaining aspects of the HR Information System platform, and communicating information and expectations regarding staffing matters. You will be an ambassador of MNHS, upholding a culture of respect and creativity, service and growth.

SUMMARY OF WORK:

  • Complete daily employment operations to ensure employees are supported through our processes.

  • Work closely with Payroll to meet deadlines and ensure employee information is accurate.

  • Support the maintenance and proper use of the HRIS recruitment module.

  • Respond to employment verification requests.

  • Provide assistance to the People and Culture department with their functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Well-developed customer service skills sufficient to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce accurate and timely work.

  • Ability to perform long stretches of high concentration, detail-oriented work.

  • Strong skills in Google Suite, or the ability to adapt to new platforms easily.

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Ability to keep confidentiality.

Demonstrated Skills or Knowledge of:

  • Communicating clearly and accurately both orally and in writing.

  • Multitasking, working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines, prioritizing and adapting to changing priorities.

  • Record-keeping skills sufficient to maintain thorough and accurate records.

  • Thinking imaginatively and problem-solving.

  • Working independently and successfully with people when applying specific standards.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Human resources administrative support experience.

  • Experience as a practitioner in ADP.

  • Knowledge of Human Resources best practices.

  • HR coursework or certification.
