ECAD Designer

Job Description

Day to Day:

 · Plans, lays-out, and revises detailed part, assembly, and installation ECAD drawings from basic layouts, references, and schematics.

 · Completes details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices using computer aided design systems.

 · Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

 · Prepares complete production detail drawings/models.

 · Responsible for design and documentation of new or modified Printed Wiring Boards (PWBs) or Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)

 · Rely on previous experience, judgement, and standard procedures to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals

 · Schematic Capture and PCB design capture existing schematics from TIFF files into appropriate ECAD tool.

 · Perform PCB layout and design for simple to moderately complex boards (1 to 14 layers) using the approved software tools, adhering to IPC-2221C standards.

 · Create designs that include PCBs, flex, and rigid-flex assemblies, as required.

Skills and Requirements

• Knowledge of Printed Circuit Design (PCD) with Siemens Xpediation (Mentor Graphics)

• Fundamental PCB design understanding. Specifically high-speed, analog, and digital board layout experience · Experience reading and understanding assembly drawings, circuit card schematics, and assembly instructions

 · Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques

Experience evaluating engineering processes and providing recommendations to increase efficiency
