AnMed Therapy – Acute Care offers the opportunity for growth by joining an experienced team and treating a variety of patients including orthopedics, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and gen/med surgical patients in a hospital setting. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of the physical therapist with feedback from the PT every 8th day.

  • Observe infection control, medical, safety precautions.

  • Begin therapy after the physical therapist completes the assessment, as assigned. Use effective therapeutic interventions to meet treatment goals and engage patients in purposeful activities that support progress. Ensure the treatment plan is appropriate for the patient’s age, culture, and educational background.

  • Provide consultation/training/instruction for other members of the multidisciplinary team, family members, and patient caregivers in support of the patient’s care and discharge plans.

  • Provide appropriate equipment and recommendations that will enhance mobility or positioning if needed.

  • Conduct patient/family education and input into the plan of care documented at the time of reevaluation or in daily progress notes as appropriate.

  • Consult physical therapist if patient's status changes significantly (medical complications that affect level of functioning, etc.) so a progress note or re-evaluation may be completed. Schedule progress note with physical therapist every 8th treatment day.

  • Attend interdisciplinary staffing to report on patient status.

Qualifications

  • Current licensure with the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners

  • Certification (CPR) in Basic Life Support due within 90 days of hire and maintained on an ongoing basis. When appropriate, mandatory RQI requirements will be completed every 90 days if employee uses RQI.
