BAE Systems is seeking an exceptional Project Manager for an exciting opportunity to support the Air Force's acquisition of the next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM). Why Sentinel? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without a doubt Sentinel is one of the DOD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. Sentinel is the Department of Defense s newest official program of record having just achieved Milestone B and enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to deploy over a nine-year period beginning in 2026 and remain operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply available with smaller projects.

Job Details: This specific opening is for an ISC Sentinel Mission Threads Lead. It is a significantly challenging, incredibly rewarding lead position supervising a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team of BAE and sub-contracted employees.

Daily tactical responsibilities of the Mission Threads Program Manager include planning, coordinating, executing, and completing tasks across the Sentinel weapon system. The program manager will be held accountable by the Customer for the technical quality, content, and results of tasks, deliverable and projects within the scope of Systems Engineering, Modeling and Simulation, Configuration and Data Management, Interface Management, Requirements management, requirements verification, and Architecture.

Operationally, this position support government customers from a consultant/mentor perspective; and prepare and present reports, proposals, and presentations on the status and content of the Section s projects and products.

Please note, pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • BS or Master s Degree in Engineering or a related technical or business field.

  • At least 10 years experience with Program Management within Systems Engineering, Interface Management, or DoD-specific technical systems.

  • Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with MS Office applications.

  • At least 3 years experience leading technical teams.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills ref: setting expectations, managing work, and lead individuals and teams.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top secret security clearance and be eligible for all Special Program accesses.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active US DoD Security Clearance granted within the last 5 years strongly preferred but not required.

  • Graduate degree in Engineering or a related technical or business field.

  • Experience managing within, or entire, DoD acquisition programs.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • INCOSE ASEP, CSEP or ESEP certification.

  • ICBM Weapon System experience.

  • Experience using Cameo or Rhapsody modeling tools.

  • Experience using IBM Relational DOORS requirements management tools.

  • Knowledge or Modeling, Simulation and Analysis tools.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $133333 - $226667

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
