Description: Full Time: 36 hours one week, 48 hours the following
12 hour shifts
every other weekend

Position Highlights:

Professional Med Team Ambulance is an Advance Life Support licensed ambulance service. This means that we are licensed and trained to support life pre-hospital with cardiac monitor, intubation, oxygen, IV's with medication if necessary and other life saving measures if needed.

Paramedic, ProMed will need:
-
Current Paramedic license from the State of Michigan.
-
Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), BTLS (Basic Trauma Life Support), and CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).

Valid State of Michigan motor vehicle operating license, with continued safe driving history.

Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of MH.
Paramedic, ProMed will do:
-
Provides ALS support for BLS interfacility transports serving stand-alone emergency departments.
-
Assesses and stabilizes higher-acuity patients before transport when advanced care is needed.
-
Performs ALS interventions, including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and advanced airway and ventilator management.
-
Intercepts BLS ambulances when a patient's condition deteriorates and ALS care is required.
-
Provides clinical consultation and support to BLS crews and ED staff.
-
Enhances system efficiency by deploying paramedics in rapid-response vehicles rather than dedicated ALS transport units.
-
Assesses nature and extent of illness of injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance.
-
Restores and stabilizes heart rhythm on pulseless, non-breathing patients.
-
Monitors cardiac patient.
-
Initiates intravenous fluids to administer medication or drugs, or to replace fluids lacking in the body.
-
Performs endotracheal intubation to open airways and ventilate patient.
-
Administers injections of medications, drugs or immunization.
-
Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient’s vital signs.
-
Provide medical examination and screening of patients consistent with Medical Control Authority Protocols.

Assists in extricating trapped victims and transports sick and injured persons to treatment center
-
Lifts and places patients on stretcher, restrains patient appropriately, lifts and moves patient to stretcher, lifts and moves loaded stretcher into ambulance.

Observes, records, and reports to physician, patient’s condition, and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.

Remains in the back of the ambulance with all patients they are taking care of.

Coordinates patient care between inter-agency (ie. Fire and Police) personnel and other company employees.

Other duties as assigned.
