Job Duties
The Southwestern Minnesota Council, Inc. (SMOC) Health Services is looking to hire a Billing Specialist. The Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the overall operations of the Health Services program. This full-time, pro-rated position provides essential administrative support, ensures accurate and timely billing processes, and assists with grant and fund tracking. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as a part of a collaborative healthcare team. The position requires strong customer service skills, solid understanding of healthcare billing practices, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Strong analytical and organizational skills with a high attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Technical proficiency with basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Outlook, Excel and Word. Valid Minnesota Driver's License. Available for travel as job requires. Able to lift and carry supplies as needed, occasionally excessive work speeds.
Starting hourly rate $22.83-$24.46 based on skill, education & experience.

Minimum Education Required
*High school graduate; post high school health care education in Coding
*Billing or Health Records Management is preferred.
*Knowledge of non-profit health care is preferred.
Minimum Experience Required
2 years of experience with Electronic Health Records and general office administration
